We Make Buying a New

Heating & Cooling System

Simple

Purchasing a new HVAC system can be overwhelming. Luckily we have taken the guess work out and simplified the process.

This guide will help you find the perfect system to best meet your comfort, efficiency, and budget.

Pick Your Air Conditioner

Let’s start by looking at the SEER Rating (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating)

Think of this in terms of miles per gallon for your A/C. The highest SEER ratings are in the 20’s, and are the most efficient to operate.

In 2006 The Department of Energy set the lowest SEER ratings in manufacturing to 13; prior to this it was 10, set in 1992.

Let’s also consider if the A/C is Modulating, Two-Stage or Single-Stage. This determines how the unit will operate.

Heat Pump – Modulating

  • Has modulating speeds so the compressor can operate at many stages between the full power and OFF position.
  • The various speeds keep the temperature very close to the desired temperature without temperature swings as seen in the chart.
  • Most Efficient. Most Expensive.

Two-Stage Air Conditioner

  • The compressor works at two levels of operations
  • High for hot summer days (the equivalent of max output for single-stage A/C)
  • Low for milder days when you don’t need as much cooling
  • Best Value, Great Comfort

Single-Stage Air Conditioner

  • The compressor only works one level of operation— cooling your home at max output.
  • Least Expensive, Lest Efficient

Pick Your Furnace

Similar to the Air Conditioners SEER rating, Furnaces have a their own efficiency rated by AFUE.

Annual Fuel Utilization Efficacy which is a measure of how efficiently your furnace can utilize it’s fuel. The more efficient your furnace, the more heat you will get per unit of fuel.

We will also have the option to choose from Modulating, Two-Stage and Single-Stage.

Proper humidification helps prevent respiratory problems, decrease your likelihood of catching the flu or a cold, and reduce your chances of getting an infection.  Humidification helps eliminate symptoms, such as dry skin and noses, scratchy throats, asthma, allergies, and static. You may also save your dry hardwood floors from cracking, walls from warping all while keeping your bills lower. The EPA states, you save up to 4 percent on your heating bill for every degree you lower your thermostat. A home with higher humidity levels will feel warmer, allowing your thermostat to operate at a lower temperature.

Why Have an Annual Maintenance Plan?

Similar to your vehicle getting annual service such as an oil change, HVAC systems must have annual maintenance as well. This ensures the performance of your investment is operating to an optimal level. Our expert technicians are able to identify and correct any problem or issues before they further damage or keep your comfort system operating in the most efficient manner. We take the guess work out and contact you in the fall in spring to preform your annual service.
